Anthony Ray Hinton spent 30 years on death row for a crime he did not commit until he was freed in 2015 by the efforts of Bryan Stevenson and the Equal Justice Initiative. After his release, he authored a best-selling book entitled The Sun Does Shine: How I Found Life, Freedom and Justice. He will speak about what he learned from his experiences in prison and why it is so important for individuals and congregations to assist those who are or were incarcerated.
This webinar will feature a presentation that Mr. Hinton will give at the New York Avenue Presbyterian Church in Washington, DC. The program will also highlight the work of the Returning Citizens Assistance Network and other groups in the Washington, DC area working to help those who have been incarcerated.
