Alexandria At Home (AHA) member Victoria Almquist will lead this roundtable discussion of Medical Aid in Dying. MAID refers to a practice in which a terminally ill adult has the option to ingest medication prescribed by their doctor to end unbearable suffering and die peacefully in their sleep. This practice is currently authorized in 11 states. While MAID has many monikers (Death with Dignity, End of Life Options Act, etc.), it is factually incorrect to refer to the practice as assisted suicide, sucide, or euthanasia.
