As Cheverly Village celebrates our first year, we are extremely grateful for all your support—for Cheverly Village members who trust us to respond to your requests for assistance; for volunteers who so generously devote time to driving Village members to medical appointments and meeting their other needs; and for donations large and small that we have received from several Cheverly residents.
The generosity of our early contributors and their confidence in us have allowed the Village to focus most of our attention on building and improving our capacity to provide services and activities for our members. We have spent very little time fundraising.
As we enter our second year of operation, we are committed to ensuring the Village’s sustainability by nurturing an ongoing community of regular donors, or “Friends of Cheverly Village.” Please consider yourself such a “Friend,” and think of us for your year-end giving. Consider making a gift of any size to express your thankfulness for all that the Village is bringing to Cheverly. And yes, your donation to Cheverly Village is tax-deductible.
Currently, over 50 Cheverly Village volunteers are providing services to Cheverly Village members. Thanks to them and the financial support of members and individual donors, the Village has meant a lot over the past year:
Tasty potlucks and enjoyable game nights.
Happiness when a volunteer arrives to visit.
Answers to questions about service providers.
Not worrying about getting up on a ladder to change a light bulb.
Keeping connected with new and old friends and neighbors.
Staying in the home we love.
Getting to appointments on time with a friendly, trained volunteer driver.
Interesting presentations and celebrations.
Value, including the intangible treasure of caring, committed friends.
Involvement and continued engagement in the community.
Nice to know Village membership is affordable for all Cheverly residents.
